JMdict/EDICT

The JMdict/EDICT project was started by Jim Breen in 1991 and provides a machine-readable Japanese to English dictionary. Since that time it has been updated and expanded by many contributors. More information on this project can be found at the Japanese/English Dictionary Project.

Wiktionary

Wiktionary is a multilingual, web-based project to create a free content dictionary of all words in all languages. It is collaboratively edited via a wiki. Wiktionary is run by the Wikimedia Foundation, and is written collaboratively by volunteers, dubbed "Wiktionarians".

This website uses material from the Japanese and English Wiktionary sites, which is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share-Alike License 3.0.

KanjiVG

The KanjiVG project provides information on the stroke order diagrams of the Kanji and Kana via SVG files. More information on this project, as well as the copyright and the Licence Statement can be found at the KanjiVG website.

Tatoeba

The Tatoeba project provides the Japanese sample sentences and English translations for them. More information on this project can be found at the tatoeba.org website. Example sentences are licensed under Creative Commons CC-BY.
