Kunyomi is the Japanese reading and onyomi is the chinese reading. Onyomi is mainly used for nouns, and is usually used when a kanji is imbedded in other kanji such as 木曜日(もくようび)(Thursday). Kunyomi would be used for something like 木の葉(このは)(tree leaves).

Above all things, love. heart

yamenarhim-chan ^_^ it's better (and necessary) to study both onyomi and kunyomi because you will need them both for reading well Japanese ^_*
but don't worry, you will be surprised at how somehow it will become spontaneous to recognize when you have to use kunyomi and when onyomi, with practice :3
