Origami

Does or has anyone else done any origami?
I use to do it everyday and considered my self to be advanced at it.
one of the last things I have done was a snake out of 1000 modular triangles. It only took me 3 days to fold all 1000 pieces.
my fingers were a little sore after that one lol
Other than that i have made 100s of different things out of origami, and in some cases 100s of each like paper cranes, and surikens.
I started making paper cranes at about the age of 6-7 so I'm probably close to 1000 of those but who knows lol
also a cool one that i have done is called a wxyz star i made it about 1ft in diameter and used 64 full pieces of paper. which was old homework paper from math class. lol
I hardly have made any in the past 3 years since i graduated high school.
one of my favorite things i have folded was a wizard. It stood in 3D rather than a flat piece of folded paper. it was ranked as advanced level along with a dragon that i have folded.


Anyway has any one else done any origami, and what was your favorite?
what was the most you have folded?

Hi!

I only started it not so long ago. I can fold two simple fox figurine, one flat, and one 3D design. I swarmed my room with paper foxes... The other animal i can fold is the rabbit. A simple, 3D table decoration, and two bit more complex 3D sitting rabbit. 

DarkShadow, could you link the paper shuriken pattern? I would like to try it myself. It sounds relatively simple, and it may be good for a beginner.

actually the one i did was called the QRSTUVWXYZ  star lol couldn't find the original video i used its been awhile...i made it in 2010...

WXYZ is a little simpler as its just 4 intersecting triangles.

@Kpopluva16 im so sorry i haven't been on much lately...
i usually just look up random origami videos or folding instructions i had a few books on it as well.

Yes! Origami is great.  I think it is an underappreciated art form.  There are some real masters out there.  Some of my favourite origami artists are Robert J. Lang and John Montrol.  I recommend their books for anyone interested in doing origami -- especially John Montrol. (Lang tends to have advanced modles, but Montrol has some books for beginners.)  Of course there are many, many otther artists, but I'm going to keep it simple.  Also, there's something to be said about discovering a new world of fun for yourself.  You can also find a variety of videos (on all levels of difficulty) on youtube.  I plan to (hopefully) make this courner of the forum more vibrant in the future.
