The sound/audio practice for learning katakana and hirigana is not loud nor clear enough.  It was like a guessing game based on hominimims in the hirigana and katakana chart.

Yeah, the audio isn't very clear if you're learning to pronounce hiragana/katakana. I use google translate cause the sound quality is good. (Don't trust their translations though, it's terrible.)

I still find the audio in the dictionary entries helpful as a guide for noting the pitch accents. I draw it like this:
