Is this verb use like とんでもない with the meaning of "it doesn't matter, don't worry about it"?

とんでもない is actually a sound change from
Also, just reading the dictionary explanation on goo, which explains that in polite speech it should be said using 「とんでもないことです」 or「とんでもないことでございます」 although recently a lot of people are using 「とんでもありません」or「とんでもございません」.
