I'd need some context to understand it.

The meanings for the Kanji are sort of like the raw meaning for it.  When it is used in vocabulary and combined with other characters the meaning is refined and you get something more precise and meaningful (though occasionally a completely different meaning).  That's probably the simplest way I can think to describe it.

Can someone tell me the meaning of this kanji 引 in this sentence?
ああ なるほど ここでひきね。

is it possible to obtain the meaning of it by just reading the sentence or do you need background to understand it?
and
are the meanings of this kanji provide by this website somewhere near to the meaning obtainable in that sentence?
