して＋おります is the humble equivalent of して+います
Humble forms are used when you are referring to yourself and your own actions, it is a way for a speaker to show respect by putting themselves at level below that of the speaker. Honorific forms work the opposite, the speaker would use them when referring to actions of the listener to raise the status of the speaker.
Being in humble form does not change the meaning of what is being said, it is just used in a different context.
